abstract

  • Thin films of irondoped and pure amorphous alumina with embedded marker layers of iron oxide (Fe2O3) were ionbeam mixed with 210keV argon in a temperature range of 164 to 750C. The marker exhibited a strong temperaturedependent spreading (T > 470C) into the undoped alumina matrix, but the marker spreading into the irondoped matrix was inhibited by the presence of the dopant.
