Characterization of microstrip patch antennas based on the two-dimensional wavelet theory Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • We explore the application of the two-dimensional multiresolution analysis theory to the study of microstrip patch antennas. A 2D multiresolution expansion including 2D scaling functions and all three types of 2D wavelets is used to approximate the patch currents. By assuming a plane wave excitation, the resonant frequency or resonant length of the antenna can be determined from an examination of the excited currents through a frequency search. The results for far-field patterns and input impedance with different feed structures are presented.
