Constructing Technology: Operationalizing Learner Control Through Multimedia Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Study skills are a very important aspect of college success. This paper provides a look at the development of interactive study skill modules in progress at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). The development model is based in a constructivist framework and is designed to providing maximum user engagement, interactivity, feedback and reflection to enhance the learning process. The pilot study of the modules provided positive data on student learning outcomes and also provided valuable feedback, which will be cycled back into the development process. These modules will be offered to the entire student population at UTEP and area high schools as part of the outreach program.
