abstract
In large enrollment classes, the process of peer evaluation is important to team-based learning. This process, however, can create a time-consuming dilemma for the instructor, who has merely been a facilitator-not a member-of all teams in the classroom. Plus the task of collating all peer evaluations to ensure effective team participation proves to be a substantial time strain on the instructor and the teaching team. We have devised and implemented a technological solution which creates a creative interface, enabling teams to literally "see the light" and evaluate peers, offering each team member anonymous, prompt feedback. This also addresses the need for students to have an active input into the grading of their team collaborators and also reduces non-performance issues that are typically the main cause for student dissatisfaction with team learning.
