abstract

  • The reaction of PhCH2C(O)Mn(CO)5 with 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)- ethane has resulted in the formation of PhCH2C(O)Mn(CO)3(disphos) which did not undergo decarbonylation. On the other hand PhCH2C(O)Mn(CO)5 was observed to react with (PhO)3P to give initially PhCH2Mn(CO)4P(OPh)3 which further reacted with (PhO)3P to eliminate toluene and give the ortho-metalated product, (PhO)3PMn[(PhO)2P-μ-OC6H4](CO)3. © 1974.
