abstract

• The stereochemistry of LMn(CO)4COCH2Ph (L = phosphines, phosphites) is dependent on the mode of preparation. Thus preparation and stereochemistry of the title compound according to reactions of phenylacetylmanganese pentacarbonyl with L, of benzylmanganese pentacarbonyl with L, of Na[LMn(CO)4] with phenylacetyl chloride, and of [Mn(CO)5L][PF6] with benzylmagnesium chloride are reported. 1975.
