abstract
It is demonstrated in finite-range DWBA analyses of (p, t) reactions, utilizing realistic triton wave functions, that the transfer only occurs in the extreme surface of the nucleus. This explains in part the success of recent (p, t) analyses which employed quite simple two-neutron transfer form factors. The necessary enhancement of the bound-state wave functions was obtained by employing a large geometry in the half-separation energy method. 1980 Societ Italiana di Fisica.
