Accelerating decay by multiple 2 pulses Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • Coherent control can lead to acceleration and inhibition decay depending on the density structure of the decay process. The dynamics of the decay process involves the application of series of ultrashort 2 pulses during transition of time certain interval. The pulse changes the phase of ground state, leaving the excited state unaltered. Quantun interference is produced from the transition amplitudes resulting in accelerated decay under suitable tailored conditions.
