abstract
A scheme for implementing the discrete quantum Fourier transform was presented using cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The basic building blocks of the scheme are the two-bit quantum phase gate and one-bit unitary gate. The QED scheme relies on passing a series of atoms through a sequence of high Q cavities and classical fields.
