abstract
The reaction of (iPr2N)2PN3 (1) with Fe2(CO)9 in toluene solution at 25C produces the complex (iPr2N)2P(N3)-Fe(CO)4 (3) with a high yield. The cophotolysis of 1 and Cr(CO)6 in tetrahydrofuran solution results in the formation of (iPr2N)2P(N3)-Cr(CO) 5 (4). Complexes 3 and 4 were found to be stable to UV irradiation (254 nm). The chromium complex 4 and the free phosphine azide (c-Hex2N)2PN3 (2) have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. 1995.
