Quantisation deforms w to W gravity Academic Article

abstract

• Quantising a classical theory of w gravity requires the introduction of an infinite number of counterterms in order to remove matter-dependent anomalies. We show that these counterterms correspond precisely to a renormalisation of the classical w currents to quantum W currents. 1991.
