abstract
Dedicated laboratories have been used to provide a secure testing environment. Given the prevalence of laptop computers, the cost of maintaining a computer lab simply for testing seems prohibitive. We present the RAPTOR assessment environment, which allows students to take an exam on their own laptop, without being able to access their hard drive or network resources. We evaluate threats, and the level of security provided by the assessment environment.
