  • We describe the generation of amplitude- and frequency-modulated light with a modulation frequency equal to the fundamental vibrational frequency of molecular deuterium [Formula Presented] This is a first step toward the synthesis of subfemtosecond pulses with prescribed temporal shape. 2001 The American Physical Society.
