abstract
Recently an algorithm for minimum variance control of ARMAX systems has been proved to be self-tuning for the regulation problem. This is a central question of fundamental interest since it implies that the adaptive controller can be used as a mechanism for tuning to the parameters of an optimal control law. The authors examine the problem of self-tuning trackers, for which the self-tuning property can be proved.
