Large eddy simulations were performed on twinjets flow system and compared the results to experiments. The merging point (MP) and velocity profile at selected locations showed good agreement with experimental data. The flow in the merging region was represented well in LES data. LES showed MP to be 3.54a. The energy cascading phenomenon was found in PSD analysis on velocity fluctuation near MP. POD analysis results showed similar vortex structure compare to literature. Future work will include further frequency analysis on jets shear layer to investigate vortex shedding of jets. Second order statistical data which includes Reynolds stress will be calculated and compared to experiments. POD analysis showed a promising tool to show fluctuating eddy structure and will be used for reduced order modeling effort in the future.
