  • A mathematical derivation is presented of the analytical solution presented in a work entitled 'Rate Performance of a Layered Reservoir With Unsteady-State Interlayer Crossflow.' Starting with the continuity equation, the authors develop the governing partial differential equations. They then proceed by setting up the equations for each layer, the appropriate crossflow equations, and boundary conditions. The system of partial differential equations and boundary conditions is then solved with Laplace transformation.
