abstract
Transformed Nicotiana tabacum plants carrying the 35S-driven cDNA clone for tryptophan decarboxylase contained up to a 30-fold increase in free tyramine. Positive results from a combination of HPLC, UV absorption and TLC were used to identify tyramine. The function of this cDNA clone as an aromatic amino acid decarboxylase is discussed. 1991.
