Advanced decline curve analysis using normalized-time and type curves for vertically fractured wells Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • 1986, Society of Petroleum Engineers. The methods described for using the new type curves are iterative and are best applied by using a computer program. Simple numerical integration and interpolation schemes are all that are required to program the computations described in this paper. The resulting program is much simpler to build and use than conventional reservoir simulators. Data required to apply the method include rate history, gas properties, and estimates of initial pressure and gas saturation. It can be used to predict performance for fractured gas wells with or without non-Darcy flow.
