Multi-attribute rehabilitation of storm or combined sewer systems Book uri icon

abstract

  • MARESS or the Multi-Attribute Rehabilitation of Sewer Systems is an optimization model for the planning of combined sewer systems rehabilitation. It is a multiple-objective mathematical model presented as an alternative to crisis-based or palliative programs. The model particularly aims to optimize the costs expended in upgrading the overall sewerage structural conditions and the overall hydraulic condition, as well as the costs for maintenance and claims. Results of the application of MARESS to a case study in the City of Indianapolis is presented.
