abstract
A novel 2D coordination compound, {[Co3Cl4(H2O)2[Co (Hbbiz)3]23 C7H89- CH3OH} has been prepared and characterized. The compound (see picture) consists of a honeycomb structural motif of twelve-membered rings composed of alternating octahedral and tetrahedral Co11 ions and the bridging ligand 2,2-bibenzimidazole (Hbbiz). Magnetic ordering is observed below Tc = 9 K (Tc = Curie temperature).
