Abstract Affirmative Action is a governmental policy that has attempted to improve the employment, educational, and business opportunities of underprivileged classes, often women, minorities, or indigenous peoples, through preferential treatment in job hiring, college admissions, and the awarding of government contracts. While it can be successful in promoting underprivileged people in a society, it also has been vigorously debated since its implementation in various countries.
