abstract

  • We study the possibility of detection of the neutralinos and sleptons of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) that explains the (g - 2)u anomaly at the LHC. In this thesis, we scan the MSSM parameter space that is consistent with the (g - 2)u excess and highlight three distinct cases with different neutralino compositions. The explanation of (g-2)u excess at 2? range requires the smuon (u1) to be lighter than ~ 500 (1000) GeV for tan ? = 10 (50). Correspondingly the two lightest neutralinos, X^0 1 , X^ 0 2 , have to be lighter than ~ 300 (650) GeV and 900 (1500) GeV respectively. We search these light smuons and neutralinos at the LHC in multilepton + E/T final states. The ongoing run of the LHC will set 95% CL exclusion limit on Mx^0 2 (~ 650 - 1300 GeV) and ml (~ 670 - 775 GeV) with Mx^0 1 ~ 100 - 250 GeV at 3000 fb^-1 integrated luminosity in the aforementioned channel.
