The possibility of a general multifold class of novel allotropic forms of carbon is suggested. They consist of cubic or hexagonal diamond blocks or layers interconnected by blocks or layers of "graphitic" strips. Some simple consequences are noted with special attention to the possibility of electrical conduction along with the "graphitic" strips. 1994.
