abstract

• The excited-state spectrum of a type of resonance-theoretic model Hamiltonian for an extended polyphene chain is treated. The general "transfer-matrix" technique enables explicit inclusion of electron-correlation effects, while still yielding a quasi-particle picture for excitations. 1989.
