abstract
In the past pointed bubbles have been obtained numerically in the presence of surface tension. In this paper it is proven that if such pointed bubbles do exist in the presence of surface tension, then the singularity at the corner must be an irregular singular point. The generality and significance of the result are discussed. 1994 American Institute of Physics.
