abstract
The importance of crude oil chemistry while dealing with an unconventional reservoir and new, quick, and innovative technologies to determine the oil composition experimentally are discussed, along with innovations on steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD), steam injection, and solvent-steam injection methods. A newly emerging technology, electromagnetic wave introduction to reservoirs and its impact on wettability alteration, is described as well as a deep understanding on the completion of enhanced oil recovery wells for SAGD and in-situ combustion.
