abstract
A transport theory developed previously is applied to deeply inelastic heavy-ion reactions induced by Kr and Xe ions. Doubly differential cross sections in energy and angle for fragments of various charges are calculated, and compared with the data. Good agreement is obtained. The paper does not contain a description of the theory which has been published elsewhere. It does, however, contain a brief summary of the basic physical ideas underlying the theory, as well as an account of the equations actually solved.
