Inflow Performance Relationships of Horizontal and Multibranched Wells in a Solution- Gas-Drive Reservoir

The inflow performance relationships (IPR) for horizontal or multibranched wells producing from a solution-gas drive reservoir were generated using a simulator based on nonlinear regression analysis. First, a base case was considered with typical fluid, rock, and reservoir properties. Then, variations, in wide range of fluid, reservoir, and well characteristics, from the base case were investigated to identify their effects on the calculated curves. The IPR curve was combined a productivity model to predict the performance of these wells in a solution-gas drive reservoir. At low bubble point pressures, the curves coalesced on Vogel's classic relationship. For higher pressures, they deviated substantially.
