abstract

• This is the first article in a two-part series that discusses some possible improvements to the commercial building energy audit based on results from a shopping center case study in New Jersey. This article describes the case study businesses and discusses energy use indices based on annual and monthly electricity consumption data. It discusses how pre-screening indices for an energy audit can help determine HVAC system problems.
