abstract
The propagation of short, high-powered pulses in single-mode optical fibers is determined by a number of physical effects. Raman effect is among the main ones. An approximate description of the Raman effect in fibers has been given by Gordon 1 iu z + 1/2 u tt + |u| 2u = t d(|u| 2) tu, where t d is the delay time. Third-order dispersion as well as self-steepening terms are neglected. This paper is interested in stationary solutions of Eq. (1).
