Vector incoherent solitons Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • The formation of multicomponent spatial solitons by co-propagation of incoherent beams in nonlinear medium was analyzed. The mutual incoherence of the components of the composite beam was achieved by shifting the optical frequency of each component and by varying the path of the beams. Photorefractive strontium barium niobate (SBN) crystals were used to demonstrate the the formation of bright and dark spatial solitons. The experimental observations indicated shape transformations of the multicomponent soliton in collision representing the stages of oscillations in soliton propagation.
