abstract

  • Steering properties of dark spatial solitons in a lossy saturable nonlinear medium are investigated. It is shown that linear absorption may improve dark soliton steering weakened by saturation of the nonlinearity. Numerical examples of various steering characteristics for both stationary propagation as well as dark soliton excitation are presented. 1994.
