abstract
2017, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. A precise speed tracking scheme incorporating time-frequency control into the field oriented control (FOC) of a permanent magnet synchronous motor is developed. A mathematically vigorous model of the motor is derived in the stationary abc reference frame and subsequently mapped into the stator rotating dq reference frame using Parks transformation. The time-frequency controller is incorporated into the FOC scheme to be evaluated against the traditional PI controller based FOC for improved performance. Simulations of an interior mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor under extreme harsh working conditions are considered to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed design.
