Quantization of the surface polariton field and the decay of an atom in the presence of a dielectric

abstract

• The surface polariton field due to the presence of an anisotropic dielectric occupying a semi-infinite domain has been quantized is this letter. The quantized field expressions are used to calculate the probability that an atom in the vicinity of a dielectric decays with the emission of a surface polariton. 1975.
