We show that by using Wigner functions one can develop a treatment of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlated state of two spin 1 2 systems in a form similar to that of a local hidden variable model. The quantum mechanical results are exactly reproduced at the cost of allowing the probability distribution function to become negative. 1992.
