abstract
A general formulation of the fluorescence signal in frequency-modulated beams is given. Such a signal is shown to probe the two time-correlation functions of atomic-inversion operators. Explicit results for the modulated fluorescence are given for the two-level model under arbitrary conditions. 1984, Optical Society of America.
