abstract

• A study was performed on magneto-optical rotation of nonmonochromatic fields and its nonlinear dependence on optical density. The magneto-optical rotation in an optically thick cold atomic medium was calculated. A quantitative analysis of the recent experimental results of Labeyrie using cold85Rb atoms was provided.
