abstract
I show that the nonlinear mixing of an intense pump and a weak probe of frequencies 2 and 2 - , where Q is the pumps generalized Rabi frequency, leads to the spontaneous generation of the radiation at the submultiple of the Rabi frequency, that is, at 2 + (/2). I prove that such radiation at 2 + (/2) has strong squeezing properties that are nearly unaffected by the quantum noise of the medium. 1988, Optical Society of America.
