El Reglamento 856/84/CE instaura en el seno de la Unin Europea el rgimen de cuotas lecheras y tasa suplementaria, con la finalidad de restringir la produccin de leche de vaca. Dicha limitacin al libre mercado ha afectado al precio de la leche y ha generado transformaciones importantes en la estructura productiva del sector ganadero cataln. Actualmente se debate la posibilidad de la supresin del rgimen de cuotas lecheras y tasa suplementaria. La supresin de esta medida proteccionista conllevara un aumento de la produccin, una cada en el precio y una mayor intensificacin de las explotaciones ganaderas. El objetivo de este artculo es analizar el impacto de la supresin del rgimen de cuotas lecheras y tasa suplementaria en el mercado lechero cataln, con la finalidad de confirmar o descartar las hiptesis mencionadas. [Council Regulation (EEC) No 865/84 established within the European Union the milk quota and super levy system, with the purpose of restricting milk production. This restriction to competition has had an effect on milk price and has generated important transformations in the productive structure of the Catalan milk sector. At the moment, there is a debate about suppressing the milk quota and super levy system. This suppression would entail an increase in production, a drop in the milk price and a greater intensification of the farms. The aim of this is to analyze the impact of the abolition of the system in the Catalan milk market, in order to confirm or discard the aforementioned hypotheses.]
