• There is a family of functions w(u), 0 < < , related to the Dickman function p(u) by the relations w1(u) = ep(u), w * w(u) = w+(u). We consider the analytic properties of the w(u) and obtain an asymptotic formula for w(u) valia uniformly in , u+ . The w(u) are of direct interest in number theory as well as for their connection to the Dickman function. 1986 Oxford University Press.
