An investigation of longitudinal and transverse resonance in superfluid3He-A in low magnetic fields Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • In this work we present careful measurements of the resonance lines in the A phase performed in a closed, parallel plate geometry. The linewidths are in good agreement with the recent relaxation theories, except near the transition temperature. The satellite longitudinal resonance at a frequency 1/2 times that of the usual mode, first identified by the Orsay group, is found to depend upon geometry. Finally, the integrals of both the transverse and longitudinal resonance lines fail to satisfy the Kramers-Krnig rule for the total intensity and are too small by roughly a factor of two. 1976 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
