  • It hinges on the ligand: The electron-donor ability of NiN 2S2 ligands is compared to that of traditional diphosphine and diimine ligands. Structural comparison of NiN2S2 and o-phenanthroline (phen) complexes of {W(CO)4} and (PdX2) units shows asymmetry imposed by the hinge bonding of the NiN2S 2 S donors (see superimposed structures) which favors stereo- and regioselective substrate addition. 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
