Beam width correction in high precision Sagnac interferometry

The effect of finite beam width on the Sagnac frequency shift is calculated using a general relativistic analysis. For small rotation rates, the beam width effect dominates over lowest order special relativistic corrections, and is a possible source of error in precision measurements. 1981.
