Model Predictive Droop Control of Distributed Generation Inverters in Islanded AC Microgrid Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • 2017 IEEE. In general, the distributed generation (DG) inverters can operate in parallel in islanded microgrids through droop characteristic based control technique. This control technique is suitable for long distance DG inverters to achieve proper power sharing while ensuring good voltage regulation. On the other hand, the traditional droop control shows some disadvantages, such as the requirement for multi-loop feedback control, which results in complex controller design and slow dynamic response. To overcome this drawback, model predictive based droop control technique is presented in this paper. To verify the control technique performance, simulation studies are performed with Matlab/Simulink.
