Successful obturation of the opened root canal is fundamental to the success of endodontic therapy. This article discusses current injection techniques for obturating root canals using two modern gutta-percha delivery systems. The technique involves delivery, compacting, and sealing the root canal utilizing thermoplasticized gutta-percha and sealer. These systems stress the importance of proper canal preparation prior to obturation and have proven to be advantageous in a variety of clinical scenarios. Using either system, the gutta-percha should be properly heated prior to injection, and the clinician should maintain control when delivering and compacting the gutta-percha.
