Design considerations for the study of amphibians, reptiles, and small mammals in California's oak woodlands: temporal and spatial patterns Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • Monitored pitfall traps for >50 000 trap nights. Numbers of captures and trap success varied spatially in comparisons of grids within and among stand types, as well as among study areas. Capture numbers also varied temporally, both within and between the years of study. Differences in capture rates varied among taxa and also varied among species within a taxon. -from Authors
