Abstract This chapter provides an overview of several components of cropping systems for the production of peppers (
Capsicum annuum andC. frutescens ) in the field. Soil preparation (bedding and mulching), plant density and spacing, plant management (use of row covers and low tunnels, pruning, and plant training and support), and specialized cropping systems (systems that modify tillage, intercropping, and ratoon cropping) are specifically covered.
