Pathogen-contaminated water resources can impact human lives either through drinking water, contaminated fresh produce, processed foods, or even recreational waters. This chapter focuses on specific water-sampling and microbial contaminant detection methods that are currently available. These methods are discussed in the context of the US EPA, WHO, and ISO guidelines.
