abstract

  • We consider the well-known cases of strong isospin mixing in8Be,12C, and16O. We show that, contrary to some previous claims which invoke the need for a charge symmetry breaking nuclear interaction, (i) the isospin mixing matrix elements can be explained by the Coulomb interaction alone and (ii) contributions from charge symmetry breaking nuclear interactions are small. 1978 Springer-Verlag.
