abstract
Using a suite of radiotracers added to a simulated estuarine ecosystem as analogs, the authors studied the chemical behavior and transfer mechanisms of pollutant trace metals in the coastal environment. This paper presents a brief review of the separation techniques that have been employed, and the relationship between the environmental behavior of various trace elements and the phases in which they occur.
